Collective Worship
Collective Worship is a special time set aside each day when we come together as a school family to celebrate our love of God and nurture spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth. At St Elphin’s, our vision Together in Faith we learn, we share, we serve, we care is at the heart of every act of worship. Through prayer, reflection and song, pupils and staff express praise and thanksgiving, deepen their spiritual awareness and reflect on the character of God and the teachings of Christ. Worship is a time to affirm Christian values, share one another’s joys and challenges, and celebrate key moments in the Christian calendar. Each half term we explore a different Christian value through Bible stories and child-friendly resources, helping every member of our community to learn, flourish and grow together in faith.

Class Led Worship
Throughout the year, each class has the opportunity to lead Collective Worship for their Key Stage, sharing and celebrating learning with the wider school community. These acts of worship are carefully linked to our half-termly Christian value or to our British Values, helping pupils to deepen their understanding and live out our vision in meaningful ways. Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us, making these occasions a special time to come together in faith and share worship with our families.
Church Events
Each week, our Key Stage 2 classes take turns to visit St Elphin’s Church to take part in the Eucharist service alongside members of our parish community. This special time strengthens our close links with the church and gives pupils the opportunity to experience worship in a meaningful and authentic setting. Children who have been confirmed are able to receive Holy Communion, deepening their understanding of faith and belonging. At Christmas, Key Stage 2 proudly share a special service with families, celebrating the joy of the season together, and at Easter we are joined by Key Stage 1 as we come together to deliver our Easter Service as one school family.
