Meet our Governors

Mr J Blundell - Chair of Governors

I was born and have lived in Warrington most of my life and attend St Elphin's parish church regularly.  I am passionate about education and that all children have the ability to achieve their potential.  I have a strong interest in SEND having been involved in teaching SEND pupils for 17 years and spent 10 years as a senior manager in a range of schools.  

Rev'd P Wilson - Foundation Governor

The Rev'd Paul Wilson has been the Rector of Warrington, St. Elphin’s, since May 2013, moving here from Yorkshire. Before being ordained in the Church of England in 1998, Paul has had previous experience of working in retail management as well as running his own business.  Paul has served as a Governor at various schools for over 17 years. At St. Elphin’s CE Primary School, Paul serves as a Foundation Governor, appointed by St. Elphin’s Church.  Paul is committed to seeing the pupils and staff of St. Elphin’s CE Primary School flourish, grow and achieve their very best as unique children of our loving God. Paul is also the link Governor for RE, Ethos and SMSC.

Miss K Hayes - Foundation Governor

Born and raised in Warrington, Kathryn has been a lifelong worshipper at Warrington Parish Church, St. Elphin’s and is currently a Churchwarden there. Trained as a teacher she worked in local primary schools for over 38 years.  A Foundation Governor she is member of the Staffing and Curriculum Committee, the Finance Committee, the Staff Dismissal Panel and the Pupil Discipline Panel.  She is also the link Governor for collective worship. Kathryn is committed to seeing that both pupils and staff achieve their full potential in all areas and that they flourish and grow in an environment which reflects the love of God. Kathryn is also the link Governor for KS2

Dr. L Gibson - Local Authority Governor

Dr Lucy Gibson is a lecturer in Applied Health and Social Care at Edge Hill University. She has a PhD in sociology awarded by the University of Manchester in 2010. Lucy has lived in Warrington since 2007 and has a keen interest in the local community, particularly education and services for children and young people.  This is her first school governor role serving as the Local Authority Governor for St Elphin's C.E Primary School. Lucy is highly committed to promoting fairness and equality and ensuring the pupils of St Elphin's are able to achieve their full potential in a safe, secure and encouraging environment. Lucy is also the link Governor for KS1

Mrs A Astill - Foundation Governor

Adele was appointed Foundation Governor in late 2015 and she is the link Governor for Pupil premium.
Her daughter attends St Elphins reception & together they attend the church on a weekly basis.

She am very passionate about a child's education & Christian Values and believe these to be very important.  Adele is excited to become more involved as a school Governor.

Adele has over 10 years experience in Human Resources dealing mainly with employee welfare, offering advice & support.

She hopes this experience will help with her personal development into being a great school Governor.

Mrs E Brown - Parent Governor

Emma was born and raised in Warrington, She is a Parent Governor and the chairperson of the Health and Safety Committee.

She currently has three children at St Elphin’s from Reception all the way to Year Five.

Emma enjoys working with the staff, parents and children at St Elphin’s and she is an active part of the school community as well as being a founding member of the PTFA of which sh is the Chairperson.

Emma has strong ties to our local community being part of The Fairfield and Howley Neighbourhood Project and The Friends of St Elphin’s Park. She hopes to build on relationships between the school, parents and the local community. Emma is also the link Governor for EYFS

Mr A Leah - Foundation Governor

Andrew has lived in Warrington most of his life and is a former pupil of the school. He worships regularly at the Parish Church and is married to Louise with whom he has 3 boys aged 26,24 and15.
Andrew has been a family solicitor in the North West of England for over 20 years and has previously served  on the PCC at Woolston Church of the Ascension where he was also a Foundation Governor.
