Miss K Hayes
Foundation Governor
Born and raised in Warrington, I have been a lifelong worshipper at Warrington Parish Church, St Elphin’s and I am currently a church warden there. I trained as a teacher and worked in local primary schools for over 38 years. As a Foundation Governor I am a member of the Admissions Panel and the Pay Panel. I am also the link Governor for Collective Worship and the representative at Governor’s forum. I am committed to seeing that both pupils and staff achieve their full potential in all areas and that they flourish and grow in an environment which reflects the love of God.
Mrs W McKinnon
Foundation Governor
I was appointed to St Elphin’s governing body by the Diocese of Liverpool in October 2020. I have taught for over 30 years and have been the Headteacher in a local church school for the past 8 years. I believe that through their experiences in school children can make beautiful memories and achieve more than they think they are capable of. I am looking forward to working with the staff and governors at St Elphin’s, to ensure that the school continues to be the best it can possibly be.
Mrs A Astill
Foundation Governor
I was originally appointed Foundation Governor in late 2015 and became a parent Governor this year. My daughter attends St Elphin’s School and together we attend the church on a weekly basis. I am very passionate about a child’s education and Christian values and believe these to be very important. I have over 10 years of experience in Human Resources, dealing mainly with employee welfare, offering advice and support. I hope this experience will help with my personal development into being a great school Governor.
Mrs V Berry
Staff Governor
I am proud to serve as the Staff Governor at St. Elphin's. From a young age I dreamed of becoming a teacher, and that calling still drives me today. As a classroom teacher, I see every day how a loving, ambitious and inclusive education can transform children’s life chances. I am passionate about removing barriers so every child can flourish and believe their own dreams are possible. As a Christian, I believe that living out our Christian values helps us to become good people and shapes a caring school community. I also serve as the Health & Safety Governor, supporting leaders to ensure a safe, well-maintained learning environment and strong compliance with statutory requirements. On the Governing Board I bring practical classroom experience, a strong focus on wellbeing, and a commitment to high-quality teaching and a rich curriculum. I am dedicated to working with leaders, staff and families so that every pupil is known, supported and inspired to achieve their full potential and to pursue their dreams.
