School Council
At St Elphin’s the school council is represented by children from Year 2 to Year 6. Children were invited to prepare a presentation to their
class and give reasons why they should be elected. After that an election took place with children simply voting for their preferred person. A school council representative was elected and a school council deputy. Both elected reps work as a team and attend all meetings together. In celebration assembly, we celebrated the winning candidates and presented the children with badges.
It is a huge privilege to be elected school council. The children are role models and are expected to demonstrate our “St Elphin’s way” at all times.
School Council Tasks
The School Council are pupil voice within our school. They are asked to attend school council meetings and be able to pass messages to their classes. As part of their role, they are asked to talk in assemblies and present the “School Council News Flash!”. This information can include messages, reminders of rules and top tips.
