Religious Education
Together in faith, we learn, we care, we serve, we share
Serve one another with love (Galatians 5:13)
At St Elphin’s, we have chosen to use the Questful RE curriculum from Blackburn Diocese because it closely reflects our Christian values and mission. Rooted in enquiry and discovery, Questful RE supports children in exploring big questions about life, faith, and the world around them in a way that nurtures curiosity, respect, and understanding.
The curriculum encourages children to think deeply, reflect spiritually, and grow in confidence as they develop their own beliefs and values. It supports our aim of creating a loving, respectful environment where every child feels valued, and where faith and compassion guide our learning and actions.
Through Questful RE, pupils are equipped to engage thoughtfully with Christianity and other world faiths, building a strong moral foundation and a sense of belonging within our diverse community. It also helps develop resilience and character, preparing children to serve others and live with hope, purpose, and love.
At St Elphin’s, daily Collective Worship, visits to places of worship, and wider school activities play a vital role in reinforcing our RE teaching and nurturing pupils’ spirituality. These experiences provide opportunities for reflection, prayer, and deeper understanding of faith in action. By engaging with real-life religious practices and diverse beliefs, children develop respect, empathy, and a sense of wonder, supporting their spiritual growth and encouraging them to live out our school values in everyday life.
